If you have memorabilia on any other deceased classmates, please send to me to be shared.

Shery

JENKINS, JOHN THOMAS, 62, died November 15, 2006,after a valiant, four month struggle. With his death, Louisville lost a truly valuable contributor to its musical/spiritual community. John, a dedicated and gifted musician, composer and arranger, performed at Unity of Louisville, Metropolitan Community Church of Louisville and Unity Spiritual Center from 1979 through July of 2006, without ever missing a service. He generously volunteered his musical talents at local schools, nursing homes and community events. Mr.Jenkins was born May 25, 1944 in Jackson, TN and graduated as valedictorian from his class of 222 students. He later studied at Vanderbilt and Indiana Universities. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his father, Lt. John Foster Jenkins. He is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Jenkins. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched with his inspiring music and caring nature. There will be a celebration of his life 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Unity of Louisville, 757 S. Brook St. Friends are invited to share memories of John at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Unity. John's friends would like to thank the caring medical staffs of University of Louisville and Jewish Hospitals.
