Doris Ann Gantt Brockus
HOBART, IN- Doris Ann Gantt Brockus, 63, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 at University of Chicago Hospital from complications of diabetes and open heart surgery. Funeral services were held at Rees Funeral Home on Tuesday November 27, 2007 in Hobart, Indiana.Her obituary was published in the Jackson Sun on Dec 2, 2007.

Virginia Mae Jones
JACKSON, TN- (November 18, 1911 - December 1, 2007) Virginia Mae Jones went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the age of 96, following a lengthy illness. She was buried at Highland memorial Gardens immediately following the church service.

One of Mrs. Jones' wishes was that memorial contributions be directed to the Union University Nursing Scholarship. You may send your contribution to Union University c/o Aubrey Harris, 1050 Union University Drive, Jackson, TN 38305, indicating it is in memory of Mrs. Virginia Mae Jones.


Jack L. Russell
Jack L. Russell was Jill's Dad and a coach at Union for 30 years and later at Lambuth. Coach Jack L. Russell, 90, died November 20, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
 
Jack was inducted into four Halls of Fame: The NAIA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame, Oglethorpe University Hall of Fame, and the Lambuth University Sports Hall of Fame. He was one of a very few college coaches ever to win over 400 games in two different sports.

Coach Russell is survived by his wife, Ruth, a daughter, Melinda Russell, a son Tommy Russell (Cande), and two grandchildren Erin and Luke Russell all of Jackson; a brother, Bob Russell , of Augusta Georgia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Jill Russell, in 1997.

Memorials are requested to be sent to the West Jackson Baptist Church, 580 Oil Well Rd, Jackson, TN 38305. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.



Brad McMillan
Brad McMillan, class of 1964, died on September 15, 2007. He was the cousin of our classmate, Ann McMillan Harms. 
 
Beloved artist remembered for cartoons
. Jackson native Brad McMillan made a career out of cartoons. McMillan, a beloved editorial cartoonist, died suddenly Saturday at his Jackson home. He was 61.
