Tribute to Mrs. Englert

Here is a lovely note and remembrance of Mrs. Englert that Vicky received from Sandra Spitzer Hill. Those old photos are powerful reminders.

Dear Vickie,
Thanks for sharing the photo of Mrs. Englert's fourth grade. I didn't have a copy of that year for some reason. I loved Mrs. Englert a lot and began to think about becoming an elementary school teacher at about that age. By the time I had Mrs. Harris in 6th grade, I was sure of my career path.
Today I took a copy of the Alexander School 4th Grade picture to Brentwood Elementary School where I teach children who are exactly the same age that I was in the photo. My 4th grade students had great fun trying to guess which child in the photo was their teacher. The curly hair had them fooled for a while. . . . . my mother adored Shirley Temple, so I had to endure a perm every so often to get the "curly top" look. What a hoot! Thanks for sharing.
Dear Mrs. Englert. . . . 95 years old WOW!!!
Sandy Hill
