Well, friends, things are falling into place, and I can say with a fair amount of certainty that our schedule is set! I am mailing out a 3-page information and registration letter through USPS in the next few days, which tells you everything you ever wanted to know about the JHS Class of 1962 45th Reunion! If your street address has changed since our 40th reunion and you haven't let either Vicky or me know, please do so now, so your letter will reach you.
Here's the way the schedule looks (times are not final, but close estimates):
Friday night, July 13th, 7:00 PM - Meet & greet at New Southern Hotel lobby (click on photo), bring your own drinks and everyone who is driving to the reunion, please bring finger foods. If you're flying, stop by the Kroger deli on your way in!
Saturday morning, July 14th, 10:00 AM - breakfast at Madison Academic High School, formerly known as Jackson High School, with time for visiting old friends, browsing the halls, and experiencing a huge dose of "been there, done that".
Saturday evening, July 14th, 6:00 PM - social hour, dinner and dance at Jackson Country Club. There will be a cash bar, dinner will be a full buffet, and music will be provided by Charlie Baker, DJ extraordinaire. He has promised to let us use his sound system for remarks, remembrances, confessions, etc.
The letter will also have three hotel/motel choices, each with rooms blocked for this weekend at a special reduced rate. Make your reservations by noting that you're a part of the JHS 45th reunion group.
One more thing - I am looking for a chairperson and other help for each of the events above, so step up and volunteer your time and talents - PLEASE!
I'm looking forward to seeing those reservation forms start pouring in!
